RULES AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION
LILLY'S FABAIC 2011 FACE PAINTING CONTEST
- Only those who have never gone to FABAIC in Orlando before may enter, (FABAIC's on the Road do not count)
- There are two parts to this contest: 1) a photo of your work 2) your 300 word essay about why going to FABAIC is important to you.
- Submit photos before Dec. 23, 2010 voting starts Dec. 25, and ends Jan. 5, 2011
- Any member of WCFP may enter, but if you win, you will be expected to pay for and arrange any additional lodging (other than the two nights prize), food, flight and any other travel expenses.
- This prize package is not transferable, if you cannot use it, it will go to the 2nd place winner. If they cannot use it, it goes to the 3rd place winner, etc.
How The Winner is Decided
- WCFP and Lilly Walters host a monthly contest. The winner of Lilly's FABAIC 2011 Face Painting Contest will be decided using the same voting system we currently use for the monthly contests.
- The photo and the essay are posted anonymously. Only Lilly Walters will know the artists and authors.
- 50 percent of your score will be from your face art, 50 percent of your score will be from your essay.
The Prize Package
Your Photo Entry
- Any theme or subject is allowed
- Since the photos are posted anonymously, remove your logos from the photo.
- Only photos not previously used in any Face Painting contest may be submitted
- This contest is for FACE ONLY, from just below the chin to the hairline will be used
- The photo must be of ONE persons face cropped right to the hairline
- Be aware we will crop your photo ourselves to the hairline
- Resize your image as a jpg, no more than 200 KB and no more than 500 x 500. WARNING!! Crop to the requested area before you resize it! Otherwise the photo will look fuzzy (see example and tips to resize and crop).
Your photo must be done on a real person
- You may use yourself as a model
- Your face painting art must have been created with materials that are cosmetic grade and created for use on the skin.
- No airbrushing or stencils
- Submit only one photo for this contest.
- Do not "embed" it in the email
- Do send it as an attachment
Your Essay Entry
- Your 300 word essay will be read and voted on just as your photo will be. It is to say why going to FABAIC is important to you.
- The essay, is meant to be anonymous. Although about you, we will remove all mentions of your name, the city you live in, etc. You are welcome to leave them in for readability, just know, what we post will have a _________ in spots that could identify you.
- YOUR ESSAY must be submitted as text, not as a jpg, or pdf. Sending as email, typing your text as the email message is allowed, or attach it as txt document.
- Your essay and photo must be sent in the same email. They will not be accepted if sent separately.
More Very Important Rules
- Anyone can vote, but to enter the contests you must be subscribed to the free support group and on-line discussion forum, West Coast Face and Body Painters
- Please advertise to your friends and fellow artists that you are in a contest and ask them to vote! Do NOT tell them what number your entry is. This contest is meant to be anonymous. If we see that you have told others which photos is yours, you will be eliminated
- You are responsible to secure all legal permissions in order to have the photo posted
- Be aware when you submit a photo, others will be inspired and copy your work
- We anticipate this contest having many entries. If so, we will break it into as many smaller contest groups as needed, then have a run-off.
